How it works

Mirumi isn't complicated. That's rather the point. Underneath the custom Japanese faux fur is a small, considered piece of engineering from Yukai's Tokyo studio, tuned to do three things — and to do them softly enough that they feel less like features and more like moods.

It glances around. Sensors let Mirumi register the movement and sound around it, so its eyes drift and settle as if it's watching the world go by from your shoulder. It looks curious because, in its small way, it is.

It gets bashful. Touch it and it looks away — shy for a moment — before peeking back to see whether you noticed. It's the behaviour people fall for first.

It nuzzles in. Rest a hand on its head and it leans into your palm and settles, the way something small and fond does.

None of it needs an app, an account or a subscription. It charges over USB-C — around eight hours of company from a full charge — and the rest is just Mirumi, being Mirumi, on your bag.
